We traveled 5 hours from Kathmandu to Chitwan. When we arrived at Chitwan Jungle Safari, we found our small cabin overlooking a lovely palm surrounded lawn with large flowers along the walkways. In the morning, it was up early for breakfast, and then off to the river where we got into our dugout canoes and began poling downriver. There we saw some of the most beautiful birds, including iridescent kingfishers and bee eaters. After lunch, it was into the jeeps for the jungle tour. Although we didn’t see any tigers, there were rhinos, sun bears, deer, the most elegant peacocks, and more. My wife and I had a tremendous time, and were impressed by the service and guides. TIP: water is solar heated, so take your shower when the sun is up!
